About the Role


BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) is a world-class business, built on the strengths of BHP and Mitsubishi. BMA is part of the world's largest diversified resources company managing various mines and a port in Central Queensland.

BMA's Broadmeadow mine site is currently seeking motivated applicants to fill a number of Underground Mine Employee opportunities to support Production Coal Mining department.

You will be working within a safety focussed and inclusive team.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, health, the community and the environment
  • Conduct sampling and analysis programs in line with established procedures
  • Entry and reporting of data to relevant parties, and where necessary recommend corrective actions to the process
  • Maintain ISO9001 certification by performing equipment and instrument calibrations
  • Review of established procedures and practices and suggest improvements
  • Resolution of quality issues within shift

The successful candidates will have:


  • A minimum of 12 months+ previous experience working in an underground mine site environment
  • Minimum ‘C' Class Driver's licence
  • A genuine commitment to ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace
  • Willingness to participate in a multi skilled and diverse team, committed to ensuring the coal handling and processing operations support production and quality targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness and aptitude to maintain high standards of safety, equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance for coal processing and handling
  • Demonstrated compliance with relevant mine safety procedures, SWI's SOP's and rules.
