A well-established maintenance team based in Gracemare are currently seeking a Tilt Train Mechanic Maintainer to join the team in a permanent full-time basis.

 

As a Tilt Train Mechanic Maintainer, you will work to maintain & repair rollingstock as well as attending to routine breakdowns and maintenance from Rockhampton to Brisbane. You will work predominately on a 7 on 7 off roster covering day & afternoon shifts.

 

About our Team

Work together to provide a service to Traveltrain Rollingstock operators and owners through efficient and effective preventative maintenance and repairs of Rockhampton Tilt Trains.

 

Reporting to the working shift leader, you will work with a supportive and tightknit team that consists of another two Mechanic Maintainers and approximately four Electricians based in Gracemare.

 

About the role:

  • Preform preventive maintenance and repairs to Tilt Trains in accordance with relevant procedures and instructions.
  • Minimise the effects of in-service rollingstock defects by efficient and timely attendance and repair of the Tilt Train in the field as required
  • Liaise with Operational, passenger services staff and rollingstock defect Co-ordinators on maintenance and repairs
  • Carry out all non-skilled depot duties e.g. housekeeping duties (cleaning etc) necessary
  • Carry out all work observing safety requirements
  • Be required to work a 10 hour shift covering either a day or afternoon shift

 

Position Description

 

About you:

  • Cert III in Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous knowledge and experience in preventative and unscheduled maintenance and fault finding on rollingstock
  • Substantial skill in working as a member of depot work teams with minimal or no direct supervision and in an autonomous capacity
  • ‘C' class drivers' licence - mandatory
  • Substantial interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
