About the team:

Working alongside respectful drivers and a great team, it is an integral part of our Ampol supply chain, meeting the needs of a diverse set of customers, particularly those in rural and regional locations. We distribute fuels and lubricants products from a network of depots across QLD, NSW, and WA, operate up to 100 tanker trucks and employ over 150 dedicated employees.

About the role:

As a Floating Tanker Driver operating an articulated vehicle from Gladstone throughout Central QLD, you will deliver bulk petroleum products utilising gravity, pump or hose reels in an extremely safe, environmentally sound, and cost-efficient manner whilst providing customers with great local customer service.

This is a permanent full-time position with competitive pay rates under the relevant Enterprise Agreement. This position will require to travel approximately 30-40% to different Depots within Central QLD to train and support the wider team when required. During this travel we will pay a travel allowance, travel cost and accommodation.

You will typically complete rostered shifts which consist of rotating weeks day and night shift and occasional Saturday's when required. A minimum of 35 hours a week with opportunities for additional hours. Based at our Gladstone Depot, you will operate new and well-maintained vehicles alongside a crew of other experienced drivers. Within your senior driver duties, you will be required to float across all four depots (Gladstone, Rockhampton, Emerald, and Bundaberg) to cover driver leave. This will allow you to have exposure to wide variety of work and an opportunity to learn all aspects of Central Queensland operations.

You are reliable, enthusiastic, and highly motivated; looking to move into or expand your career opportunities within this sector.

 

Key requirements:

  • A current HC licence I required (MC desirable)
  • A current Safe Load Program (SLP) and/or Dangerous Goods license is desirable (not essential)
  • Ability to commit to rostered shifts and occasional overtime or extra shifts as required.
  • Ampol will train and develop the successful candidate, so long as you have a fantastic, can-do attitude.
  • Fuel experience is a desirable
  • Ability to commit to travel when required.
