Delivering a comprehensive range of surface and underground mining, civil design and construction, performance enhancement, and mine site maintenance and rehabilitation services to the resources sector.
Due to the continuous growth and strengthening of our position Australia wide Macmahon has an opportunity for a Technical Superintendent to join the team at Dawson South.
Dawson is one of Australia's longest established coal mines and is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland near the town of Moura; it is approximately one hour drive from Biloela and two hours from Rockhampton and Gladstone.
This opportunity is offered on an 8/6 roster.
The role
- Work with the business development and tendering team to assess growth opportunities
- Undertake project due diligence, and build financial models to facilitate economic valuations
- Provide technical and operational expertise that will work with both corporate and site teams to enhance the internal capability of our technical services workforce and develop mining talent, knowledge, and capabilities across the business
- Monitor and analyse the metrics for the Groups portfolio and the projects progressing through the BD pipeline
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in contract mining companies in a technical services role
- Minimum 10 years' experience within the mining industry in a technical or management role
- Able to facilitate and manage technical studies, up to and including bankable feasibility studies
- Understanding of financial principles and the mining industry.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Contract law knowledge
- Effective leadership, team building and coaching skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation
- Broader management skills (Project Management/Commercial)
- Degree in a mining related discipline (Mine Engineering or equivalent)
