About your role

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead our onsite Sourcing, Procurement, Inventory and Warehouse teams in the provision of supply chain services to QAL.  This group of professionals deliver value through the strategic sourcing of goods and services for the Business.  In this critical role, you will contribute to our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by: 

  • Driving and promoting a strong safety culture in line with QAL values and ensuring all work is performed in accordance with our HSEC policies, systems and procedures
  • Directing buyers throughout the process of evaluating suppliers, conducting interviews with vendors, negotiating supplier agreements and managing supplier and vendor contracts
  • Optimising the availability of materials to site to meet customer needs and in line with economic guidelines
  • Leading improvement projects to ensure Procurement has a strong business performance focus and efficient processing of transactions
  • Providing effective performance reporting of inventory and procurement metrics
  • Building and maintaining external relationships and interfacing with maintenance, support, engineering and operations teams
  • Ensuring governance with legislative requirements and site processes / procedures


What you will bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:

  • Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business / Commercial / Finance / Supply Chain (or equivalent) 
  • Demonstrated experience in the commercial / procurement fields with progressive responsibilities throughout your career commensurate with the scope and size of this role
  • Excellent influencing and leadership experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience in mining and metals industry or procurement strategy is preferred
  • A high level of skill in the use of SAP and the Microsoft Office Suite is desirable
