We are now seeking a highly capable Substation Section Leader to lead and establish our brand new Substations field crew to safely and efficiently delivery work packages to optimise existing equipment, resolve complex problems, and upgrade our network to deliver safe and reliable electricity to over 5 million Queenslanders.
You will use your technical expertise and people management skills to mentor and coach individuals in order to drive continuous development of capability and performance within your team, as well as controlling the effective deployment of staff on project and maintenance work.

Travelling to substations and working collaboratively with team members, customers and internal stakeholders, you will enjoy variety in your work, complex problem solving, and have a passion for providing high quality outcomes.
You success in this role will rely on your strong ability to provide technical expertise and guidance, to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality, efficient and cost-effective services by team members. This is shown through the success of your previous work and/or projects.
With strong strong interpersonal and people management skills, you have well-rounded capabilities in mentoring, coaching and leading others, as well as an interest in strategy and process improvement.
You also have an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a lesser qualification coupled with considerable applied experience in HV substations projects & maintenance, along with a Queensland Electrical Work License (Electrical Fitter / Mechanic) and relevent High Risk work licenses.
