Structures Supervisor

Job Description

Golding are currently seeking an experienced Structures Supervisor for ongoing civil projects located around the central and north Queensland area. Reporting to the Civil Superintendent the primary purpose of the role is to provide leadership and support and to ensure smooth running of daily tasks. 

Extensive knowledge and experience on a bridge structures project environment is highly desirable. The successful candidate will have a strong sense of initiative along with a result driven attitude in both safety and production.  

Rosters will operate on a Monday to Friday basis with occasional Saturday work.  Site uplift allowances apply.  This is a full-time permanent opportunity with Golding.

Key role tasks:  

  • Provide supervision of crew, including managing performance and behaviour;
  • Contribute technical knowledge (primarily around bridges / structures) such that tasks are planned and executed in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Participate in and contribute to project planning through the 3 week look ahead process such that material resource requirements are received in advance of site requirements;
  • Check allocated equipment to confirm it is in sound working order and meets site requirements for certification, tagging or testing;
  • Participate in the creation of Work Method Statements (WMS) in advance of work requirements, such that safety and environmental considerations are effectively incorporated in the work plan;
  • Prepare team members for daily tasks through effective daily planning, reinforced at pre-start meetings;
  • Provide technical instruction to your team members where within your capability;
  • Assign work tasks and supervise the work such that it is undertaken in accordance with the established plan;
  • Use resources efficiently to avoid high wastage factors;
  • Undertake and/or allow for quality assurance activities in strict accordance with the contract requirements.
