About your role


The Sourcing Officer works within a large Commercial team on site and reports directly to the Supervisor - Sourcing. The team plays a crucial role in strategically matching QAL’s contract goods and services requirements with the market, in order to achieve optimal total cost of ownership, surety of supply, and to minimise business risk.  This role provides support for both operational and capital portfolios and encompasses:

Effective delivery of the end to end procurement and contracting process for goods and services from internal analysis and tender, to contract award and supplier performance management
Accountability for performance of assigned supply categories valued at approximately $50M annually
Analysis of data, identification of spend insights and trends, setting forward strategies that drive performance and value improvement
Developing high quality contracts that drive value and minimise operational and commercial risk
What you will bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you should have: 

Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement
Previous experience in a similar role
A strong commercial background including experience with contractual arrangements
Excellent communication skills, ability to work well in a team environment and the ability to form positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated versatility with various contract styles and formations
High level of skill in the use of SAP and the Microsoft Office suite are desirable
