Service Technicians – Emerald or Mackay

Job Summary: 

The Service Technician, is a workshop and site service role based in either Emerald or Mackay servicing the Central QLD Region. The role is responsible for manufacturing, repairing, testing and certifying NLT products at various locations from Emerald or Mackay workshops and servicing various mine sites. 

 Role and Responsibilities

The Service Technician, is responsible for testing, diagnosing, repairing and certifying (where applicable) electrical products and systems for communications, tracking of personnel, vehicles and equipment. Support with communications devices, proximity detection, repairs and maintenance of NLT products are core to this role. 

Experience with Fiber Networks, WiFi Communications, Underground Communications devices and challenges or the desire to become a leader in this field will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Inspect, test, diagnose and repair electrical and communications devices
  • Diagnose report and recommend corrective actions
  • Work with our product development team and contribute to product development
  • Test and assemble LV and Explosion Protected skids, installations and devices for use underground
  • Product support and electronics repairs for NLT systems and products 
  • Documentation review and modification as required
  • Maintain a clean workspace and workshop

 About you:

  • Experience with underground mining electrical equipment maintenance and operation an advantage
  • Must hold a QLD Electrical qualification (Electronics Tech, Fitter/Mechanic or Restricted licence)
  • Understanding of electronic components, circuits and assembly
  • Understand the principles in communications, tracking and locating personnel in mining environments
  • Excellent communication & time management skills 
  • The ability to provide written reports and maintain reports
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment 

Opportunity and Roster:

This position is offered on 5/2, 4/3 or other rosters allowing for flexibility while being paid for the hours you work and travel. A fully maintained vehicle along with tools and equipment are supplied. Full training in products, repair and support is also provided.
