Senior Project Engineer

The role of Senior Project Engineer entails being a key member of the engineering, project management and precontracts teams and ensuring the successful management of construction projects through all stages of the project life cycle.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Contribute effectively as a member of the company management team in the precontracts (tender, planning and negotiations), contracts (project planning and delivery) and post contract (project handover and review) management processes
  • Carry out technical and feasibility studies regarding work processes and procedures to find efficiency and quality gains to project and company outcomes and implement effectively
  • Actively participate in Project Risk Assessment workshops
  • Assess; potential risks, procedures, processes, materials and costs in regards to project delivery plans, company and client expectations and ensure positive outcomes to projects
  • Conduct on site investigations and analyse data (maps, reports, tests, drawings specifications and other project documents) to develop plans and implement achieving positive project outcomes
  • Provide good technical knowledge and commercial awareness to company and client
  • Provide advice and solutions to resolve any emerging problems/deficiencies on projects
  • Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
  • Monitor progress and compile reports in regards to project and company inputs and outputs
  • Comply with company, client and government guidelines and regulations including company safety policies and procedures

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Engineering (Australian recognised)
  • Suitably experienced and able to apply for RPEQ status
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in site engineer role on TMR (preferably) / Civil projects
  • High level of capability with MS Suite (Word, PDF, Excel MS Projects)
  • High level of capability with Civil Pro (quality management software)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Light vehicle license
