Senior Financial Accountant 

Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Senior Financial Accountant to contribute to Council’s success.

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide efficient and effective accounting support to the organisation and coordinate the preparation and completion of Council’s annual financial statements. The Senior Financial Accountant works under limited direction and is responsible for the development and maintenance of acceptable accounting systems that facilitate a high standard of annual financial reporting.

You will bring: 

  • Degree qualifications in accounting/business/finance or appropriate discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in financial and/or commercial accounting.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, time management, prioritisation and planning skills.
  • Strong problem solving, technological and analytical skills to perform the responsibilities of the position
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems at a high functional level.
