Senior Engineer – Electrical

Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Senior Engineer – Electrical to contribute to Council’s success.

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to identify and design asset solutions that balance whole of life costs with customer function requirements to ensure maximum value can be obtained from Council assets.

Essential criteria

1.    Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or relevant qualification with high level of discipline knowledge, skill and related experience particularly in Water & Sewerage Operations.

2.    Registered Professional Engineers of Queensland (RPEQ) accreditation (or ability to obtain).

3.    High level disciplined knowledge and extensive relevant experience in Electrical engineering design and investigation design.

4.    High level report writing skills and strong project management experience.

5.     High level collaboration and negotiation skills to successfully engage and influence key stakeholders.

6.     Experience communicating with contractors, service authorities, consultant engineers and internal and external customers.

7.     High level mentoring and staff development skills.

8.     Highly developed quality management, risk management and safety in design skills.

9.    Experience in the application of Electrical Engineering Design Guidelines, relevant acts and regulations, engineering guidelines and standards.

10. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and comprehensive knowledge of and experience in design software and its interface with electrical engineering.

11. Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
