Position Purpose

 

Certis Security Australia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Officer to join our team. The security officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients by monitoring and safeguarding assets and sensitive areas. The Security Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and availability of our client's assets within a gatehouse environment. The officer will be required on a casual basis to work across a 7-day roster with preferred availability day, night and weekends. The security officer will require a driver's licence with reliable transport and be located in the Gladstone area.

Key Responsibilities

 

Security Officer Level 4

A Security Officer Level 4 works above and beyond an employee at Levels 1,2 and 3,and to the level of their skills, competence and training.

  • Works individually or in a team environment under limited supervision which may not necessarily be at the site where the officer is posted.
  • Assists in the provision of on-the-job training.
  • Exercises discretion within the scope of this classification level.
  • Exercises computer skills at a higher level than Level 3; and
  • Exercises high level interpersonal and communications skills.

Indicative of the tasks that an employee at this level may be required to perform are the following:

  • Monitoring, recording, inputting information or reacting to signals and instruments related to electronic surveillance of any kind within a monitoring centre or at a particular location;
  • Keyboard operation to alter the parameters within an integrated intelligent building management or security system, including operating computer programs that have the ability to lock or unlock doors, program access cards, audit door access by individuals as well as recording the time and date of access; and
  • Co-ordinate, monitor or record the activities of security officers utilizing a verbal or computer based communications system within a monitoring centre including in or in connection with an airport security zone.

A Security Officer Level 4 may be required to perform duties of security officers at Levels 1,2 and 3 that are not designed to promote deskilling.

Qualification

 

Mandatory

  • Current and applicable Security license Cert ll (as per state regulation)
  • Current First aid Certificate with CPR
  • Australian/New Zealand Citizen or Permanent resident
  • Drivers Licence with reliable transport
  • A Current or the ability to obtain a Explosives Clearance

 

Desirable

  • Experience working within a mining operations
  • Experience working with a highly sensitive environment
  • Working with children's
