About your Role
We are currently recruiting for a Safety Advisor, located at our Rockhampton Office. This is a permanent full-time, Monday to Friday role.
This position will coordinate all aspects of Health, Safety, Sustainability & Risk Management to Hastings Deering employees working at Business Centre operations. One key benefit is that you get to go home every night!!
The key responsibilities of this role will include, but not be limited to:
- Provide expert advice and assistance to facilitate a safe working environment and ensure that all work practices are in accordance with Company policy and recognised and legislated Occupational Health & Safety regulations and procedures
- Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment or practices to ensure compliance
- Assist with pre-shift work planning, scheduling and inspections
- Assist in the contribution and implementation of the Safety Management System in accordance to Hastings Deering and legislative requirements
- Facilitate Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) investigations as required
- Coordinate accident/incident investigation, reporting and corrective actions
- Coordinate Workplace Rehabilitation Program for injured employees to ensure best recovery and premium minimisation
- Ensure environmental policies and procedures are adhered to
- Conduct inductions and training of employees in compliance with site and Company requirements and legislation and record and maintain in appropriate registers and reports
About You
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
- Formal qualification/s in Occupational Health and Safety
- Workplace rehabilitation Coordinator qualifications
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Incident investigation and reporting experience
