Is the Backbone Team supporting Gladstone Region engaging in action Together (GRT), a Stronger Places, Stronger People (SPSP) initiative of the Australian Government in partnership with Queensland Government and local partners. GRT is a place-based, community-led initiative. You will work alongside partners in the service sector to improve community wellbeing. You will contribute as a member of the national Restacking the Odds (RSTO) Team and be employed by CQUniversity. The role reports to the GRT Executive Director, with guidance and mentoring from the RSTO National Implementation Manager.

Your New Role

In this role, your dynamic and detail-oriented approach will help align and optimise community efforts to deliver on the community-designed Gladstone Region Wellbeing Action Plan.

You will build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and partnerships and work with data and people to affect change in processes, practices and systems at a service and whole of community level, creating the conditions that enable all children to thrive.

You will work closely with local service providers to build motivation and commitment to implement the RSTO framework and support its use to inform service improvements. This work will enable the linking of service level data to the new RSTO technology platform (by Seer Data & Analytics) for automated data collection and reporting; and facilitate capability building within local services to support the use of RSTO data in practice.

You will project manage specific work scopes and projects in data collection, analysis and reporting and build partner capability to collect, report and use data to inform quality improvement practices, strategic decision making and monitoring & evaluation efforts.

You will support community-led and evidence-informed prototypes for local solutions that will inform the roll out of successful prototypes in more place-based initiatives with the long-term aim of widespread adoption of RSTO across Australia.

Position Requirements

Commitment to the vision and values of GRT and act at all times in the best interests of the Gladstone Region community.

  • Comprehensive understanding of analysing and reporting data
  • Detailed understanding of the fields of service design and improvement, systems transformation, and translation of research to policy and/or practice
  • Competent in the use of business support software including word processing, spread-sheeting, email, internet, electronic report extraction and large corporate information systems
  • Relevant experience in analysing and reporting quantitative and qualitative data and helping others understand data
  • Relevant experience in co-design, community engagement or participatory action research projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build rapport with service providers, community stakeholders, and policy makers, and to work well across a diverse range of socio-economic and cultural groups
  • Ability to develop and drive new projects and activities to address arising needs as well as continuous improvement
  • Strong project management experience
  • Relevant experience developing and delivering capacity building initiatives in the health or education sectors
  • Evidence of sound judgement, initiative, and the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write and prepare reports with oversight and direction
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and achieve team objectives and results within set timeframes
  • Excellent communication strategies and skills for facilitation of small to large groups.
  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience or extensive management experience and proven management expertise or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training (desirable qualification)
