Position Summary

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical / Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering Maintenance Operations team in Mackay, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager you will support both the Mackay Racecourse and Mackay Port sites. The objective of this position is to ensure plant availability, reliability and asset condition through appropriate application of maintenance / reliability processes and strategic decisions, in line with the overall SHE, production and management requirements.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining plant reliability through development and application of defined asset strategies, linked to our preventive maintenance program.
  • Planning, budgeting and leadership for planned maintenance periods.
  • Maintaining asset integrity, in line with company standards and statutory compliance to Australian codes and practices.
  • Provision of day to day technical engineering support for the maintenance and operations teams.
  • Engagement and front-line supervision of contract resources for engineering and maintenance activities.
  • Delivery of long cycle maintenance and reliability improvement projects.
  • Compliance to Safety processes and procedures - permit issuing and plant isolations.

What you'll bring to the table

This position will suit a highly motivated and outcome driven individual who has a passion for reliability and maintenance engineering and a hands-on, collaborative working style.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Trade qualified with post trade qualifications and experience in Engineering /Maintenance Management or Reliability or; Bachelor of Engineering qualifications and experience in Engineering/Maintenance Management or Reliability.

  • 5 years in reliability sector of manufacturing or heavy industries
  • Maintenance management experience with CMMS ( Preferably SAP PM)
  • Project Management and execution experience
  • Exposure to continuous improvement or lean principles
  • Experience in the FMCG industry desirable.
  • Experience working in the Sugar Industry desirable.
  • Experience in front line /contractor management.
  • A strong safety focus.
