About the role
Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the Medical Palliative Care & Rehabilitation Inpatient Wards. These roles can be full-time, part-time or casual.
Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has been supporting the health of people living in and around Rockhampton for more than a century. Our heritage-listed Kenmore building was purchased by the Sisters of Mercy in 1915 and opened as the first Mater Hospital in Central Queensland. Today, our 136-bed facility features five operating theatres, a private emergency service and a wide range of specialised clinical services.
Salary range: $40.27 - $51.74 (Registered Nurse Level 1) per hour plus superannuation & access to not-for-profit salary packaging
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Utilising a structured approach carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients
- Within scope of practice, implements planned evidence-based nursing interventions
- Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
- Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices
- Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines
About you
You will be driven by a challenging yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this dynamic ward.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- Recent nursing experience including extensive experience within a medical ward setting
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles
