Position Summary
This position will provide effective management of the project team, and successful planning, management and delivery of the contracted works in accordance with client requirements. This role is accountable for successful project outcomes through effective leadership of the project team, managing the program schedule, risk, safety, operations, and resources associated with project deliverables.
This position will work individually and in a team environment to deliver exceptional outcomes, while maintaining a safe and productive culture and having a positive impact on the community in which we operate. This includes a willingness to comply with any reasonable request by an authorised person and perform other relevant duties that are within level of ability, skill, and experience.
This position is required to travel and work on various project sites, where we operate, to support the successful delivery of project and company goals.
This position will:
- Manage operational risk for the project, including effective health, safety and environmental strategies and plans
- Manage operational excellence ensuring effective planning, resourcing, and quality assurance
- Manage people and leadership excellence, establishing and leading strong project and team performance
- Participate in policies and procedures, including work health and safety
Reporting to this position: Senior Project Engineer/s, Project and Site Engineer/s, Superintendent, Supervisor/s, Project Administrator/s, Contract Administrator/s.

Qualifications:
- Industry recognised qualification in project management or equivalent
- Current Queensland Open Drivers Licence
- General Construction Induction (white card)
Experience and Skills:
- Over 8 years of experience in civil engineering and project management
- Knowledge of the civil construction industry and current projects
- Experience in a civil based business
- Able to interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience in coordinating labour, resources and procurement
- Highly effective in negotiating and communicating with clients and project personnel
- Experience contributing to tenders and delivering projects on time and within budget
- Demonstrated ability to lead and implement the scheduled program of work
- Highly effective in adhering to legislation and standards for performance, quality, cost and safety
- Experience in coordinating and overseeing subcontracted specialised services

Position Details / responsibility:
Manage Operational Risk, including Health, Safety and Environment:
- Compliance is achieved with the Management System Manual (MSM) and related documents by all workers including subcontractors
- Safety and Environmental Management Plans are implemented at project commencement and monitored for compliance
- Risk controls and inspection regimes are identified and implemented at the outset of the project
- Compliance is achieved in training and induction requirements at the outset and throughout the project
- Subcontractor Management Systems are equal to or greater than the company systems.
- Our safety leadership culture is role modelled and supported at all levels and is consistent with industry and company standards
- Project safety procedures and environmental and quality assurance requirements are met
- Clear safety KPIs and planned safety interactions ensures strong safety performance
- Safety incident investigations and corrective actions are managed effectively
- Regular monitoring of safety performance and incidents identifies ongoing improvements
- Site inspections and quality audits are conducted when required with ongoing improvements achieving quality standards
- Opportunities for improvements are approved, implemented, and finalised with post-implementation evaluation closed out
Manage Operational Excellence, including planning, resourcing, and quality:
- Client program is agreed, implemented, and facilitated through the project leadership team.
- Construction schedule is achieved through thorough planning and execution of agreed deliverables
- Budgeting, cost control systems and reporting mechanisms support the achievement of commercial and operational targets
- Effective resource planning, procurement, and monitoring achieves operational targets and plant equipment usage claims
- Workforce planning forecasts and achieves project resourcing needs, through consultation at an organisational/operational level
- Quality Management Plan covers the plans, designs and specifications needed to monitor, review, and produce a consistently quality product
- Subcontractor contractual obligations are monitored for compliance and issues are resolved constructively
- Site visits and regular engagement with project leadership and team define progress and highlight issues that are resolved constructively
- Timely and concise reporting on all facets of the agreed program is shared, highlighting progress and effective issue resolution
- Collaborative client relations achieve satisfaction in quality service delivery and foster long-term relationships
- Communication with the project team maintains team connection and fosters an open-door policy
- Evidence-based decisions factor in project and organisational drivers to achieve best outcome
Manage People and Leadership Excellence:
- Compliance with people related policies and procedures is achieved

- Incidents and situations that could constitute a hazard to any person, environment, or equipment are reported in a timely manner
