Job Description


An experienced Contracts & Commercial Administrator is required to provide efficient and effective commercial guidance and support to the business, in particular to the Senior Management and Project Management Team.


  • Fixed Term Contract 6-7 months
  • Immediate start
  • Location: Mackay Office (initially) then Goonyella Riverside Coal Mine
  • End Date: Early December 2023
  • Salary: $150,000.00 
  • Roster: 5 days on/ 2 days off neg. There is a shutdown period between 15/08/2023 – 14/09/2023 where this may alter.
  • Hours: On average 60hrs a week (inclusive of travel in and out)
  • Camp accommodation and meals provided in Moranbah
  • Travel to site Monday morning 06:00, Travel out Friday afternoon 14:00 (pending fatigue hrs and travel distance)

Key Responsibilities:-

1. System Administration and Support

  • Utilise in-house system (Viewpoint) in accordance with agreed business processes and user requirements
  • Review, troubleshoot design of system architecture as required, ensuring system operates in accordance with business processes
  • Execute system administration functions to ensure system in working efficiently and effectively
  • Review in-house system processes to ensure the full capability of the system is being utilised

2. Commercial Support

  • Deliver contractual risk mitigation strategies identified from contract review
  • Facilitate the delivery of the head contract and sub-contracts through to project completion
  • Assist to develop and embed the commercial and contractual systems, standards, processes, procedures for the company's managed projects
  • Analyse, dissect, structure and set up project in accordance with project requirements, including budgets and allowances
  • Overseeing adherence by Project Managers and Project Teams to commercial and contractual standards and processes
  • Assist to monitor and evaluate contract performance on projects
  • Deliver integration and scheduling of programs, business initiatives and work between operations and functions
  • Compile cost reports and end of month claims reconciled weekly for internal and external reporting
  • Support the Managing Director, Senior Management and Project Manager in drafting high value communications (letters and notices) throughout the process of Issue Resolutions and Negotiations or otherwise as required

3. Senior Management Support

  • Provide administrative support to Managing Director, Senior Management Team and Project Manager

  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial management
  • Advanced skills in Excel.
  • Experience with Viewpoint
  • Strong verbal and written skills

BMA/ BHP coal mining experience would be preferred and highly regarded subject to rest of experience.
