The Business
Growing up in Gladstone we fondly remember cracking the top off a bottle of Ward’s Soft Drink, sparkling pineapple, orange, cherry cheer, ginger ale and creaming soda to name a few favourites.
That’s the feeling we’re hoping to capture with every beer poured at this historic former cordial factory, as we proudly write a new chapter for Ward’s and the Gladstone community.
Slide open the old timber doors of the 100-year-old factory on Auckland Street and you’ll still find fruity flavours, like our hoppy IPA inspired by Queensland’s tropical climate and a cleansing lager to quench your thirst.
In the heart of Gladstone we’ve transformed the space into a laidback brewpub with local food, good vibes and great beer. But Ward’s Brewery is about more than beer. It’s about our community, our heritage and our dreams.
As your local Gladstone brewery we love our community and try to work with regional produce and local producers where possible.
We are offering a modern brewpub menu with small snacks and big bites.
We have a full-size commercial kitchen with state-of-the-art equipment and we are running a systemised approach to meal service.

We currently have an opportunity in food preparation and we’re looking to hire an experienced cook/kitchen operator to start as soon as possible.
About You
- You are experienced in the hospitality sector, in food preparation.
- You understand the importance of exceeding customer expectations and you’re skilled in making each customer feel special and appreciated.
- You want something much more than the “run of the mill” hospitality job.
- Available to work flexible hours, RSA, food safety and other relevant qualifications highly regarded
