Job Description
We have an opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager in Gladstone, QLD. This site provides specialised logistics services for the safe and secure movement, handling and storage of dangerous goods, servicing some of the major mining customers on the East Coast.
As the Branch Manager you will oversee the day to day running of this 24-7 operation. Your remit is to achieve service excellence within established timeframes and cost guidelines and hold overall responsibility for branch EBIT, cost control, new business opportunities and site safety.
This is a role where leadership, customer excellence and operational efficiency all come together and you will need to drive high standards whilst ensuring the site is being run safely and efficiently. With 7 direct reports and up to 40 indirect you will have demonstrable experience managing operations, leading people, being the customer touch point, running P&L and cost management reviews and always leading from the front with safety.
As the Operations Manager you will:
- Ensure the resources (people, systems, financial) and assets are available to meet the contractual obligations.
- Provide input to the contract negotiations and solution design, manage the short term customer relationship, overseeing the accomplishment of the contractual obligations and contract P&L
- Drive innovation and lead change across the operations through strong leadership and accountability
- Build strong relationships with our customer/s and identity opportunities to grow revenue within portfolio
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualification in logistics or business related discipline highly regarded.
- 5+ years manager experience in transport, logistics or related industry.
- Ability to communicate clearly with the customer and internal stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills with the drive to upskill and motivate our people across all levels.
- Prior DG exp. and the ability to have an ACO check.
