Office Administrator

Job Description

ASSCT has an urgent need for an Office Administrator. The role is based at the Marian Mill site.

A brief job description follows.

  • Position: Casual part time
  • Hours per week:  Flexible to suit the person.  Initially it will involve some training to become familiar with the current systems. Typical work hours for most of the year between May and December would be 6-10 hours per week.  From January to April, in the period leading up to the annual conference, the work will incrementally increase to up to 40 hours per week in March and April.  The conference is usually held for four days in late April.  Currently, the conference is rotated between Brisbane, Bundaberg, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns.  The next conference is scheduled for 16-19 April in Townsville.  The Administrator is expected to travel to the conference each year.
  • Salary: Currently, ASSCT is using the State Government Agencies Award.  Initially the classification would be Admin Office Grade 4 – Level A which is $36.91 per hour including casual loading.
  • Competency:  The person should be digitally savvy and competent across the Microsoft Suite.  Experience with event management and Xero accounting software would be a distinct advantage.
  • Duties: The duties will include:
    • Keeping website updated and current
    • Managing social media profiles and increasing audience
    • Basic bookkeeping and reconciliations.
    • Managing memberships, database and annual renewals
    • Liaise with the Executive and General Secretary as required.
    • Assist where appropriate with preparations for the annual conference.
  • Support: The position will be supported in part by the Executive Committee and primarily by the General Secretary however, the successful candidate must be self-motivated and capable of working without supervision.
