An organisation core to local infrastructure is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ICT Network and Security Engineer to join their growing ICT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining secure and reliable network and security infrastructure for our organization and improving overall security posture.
Role
- Design, implement and maintain network and security infrastructure to ensure the availability, integrity and confidentiality of information.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and other security technologies.
- Monitor and analyze network and security logs to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Implement and maintain network and security policies, procedures and standards.
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
- Provide technical support for network and security related issues.
- Stay current with new security technologies and trends and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Recognize opportunities for improvement in our cybersecurity posture and work with management to implement these improvements.
- Recognizing opportunities for improvements in IRC ICT Infrastructure and working with relevant parties to evaluate and implement
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to other team members on network and security best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with a major in networking/cybersecurity OR Minimum of 5 years of experience as a network and security engineering or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of network and security protocols and systems across a range of vendors, including Cisco Meraki, Palo alto, Azure.
- Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and other security technologies.
- Strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
- Good knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to network and security.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Relevant Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, AZ500 or similar are desirable
