Neighbourhood Centre Support Officer

Council is seeking to appoint a maximum term part time Neighbourhood Centre Support Officer to contribute to Council’s success.

This position is a maximum term opportunity with a projected end date of September 2028. Hours for this role are Tuesday to Friday 8.30am to 3pm, with some level of flexibility for the right candidate.

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Neighbourhood Centre Coordinator and a high-level of customer service to the community, with a focus on supporting the delivery of services through the Gladstone Community and Neighbourhood Centre.

 Your role will include:

  • Providing customer service, administration and technical support to the Gladstone Region Neighbourhood Centre in response to community needs
  • Developing your career in local government
  • Being present, pro-active and solutions-focused and recognise that the community is the core of our business.

You will bring: 

  • Certificate III in Business Administration and/or demonstrable relevant experience gained from working in an administration/reception environment preferably in a community service work environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to address complex social issues as first point of contact 
  • Effective communication (verbal and written English) skills and experience liaising with complex clients, employees, management and customers. 
  • Proven prioritisation, time management and work organisation to meet regular and concurrent deadlines. 
  • Sufficiently proficient in the operation of Microsoft Office Suite and corporate business systems. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently. 
  • Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
