About the role:

Located in Rockhampton – this role is part time (minimum 30 hours per fortnight) fixed term until 30 June 2023 (potential for extension depending on funding)

As a Mental Health Clinician you will:

  • Utilise specialist knowledge to provide in reach services to residents of Residential Aged Care Facilities
  • Assess client needs to develop individualised care plans and provide support with a focus on the person's mental and physical health
  • Establish a therapeutic relationship with the client
  • Maintain effective communication with family, carers and RACF staff
  • Provide evidence based low to moderate intensity therapeutic interventions
  • Coordinate and participate in case conferencing
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development
  • Provide capacity building activities and opportunities to RACF staff

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Psychology , Social Worker, Counsellor, Nursing or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in working with people with mental health challenges and/or experience in the aged care sector
  • Current membership to professional body (e.g. AHPRA, AASW or Australian Counselling Association or equivalent) is desired
