How will your ideas contribute to shaping what's next?
As our new Mechanical Engineer, you'll be a vital part of the Gladstone team and have the support of the QLD Industrial team, who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to be carbon neutral and sustainable.
Your role will include:
- Have the ability to compare, select, justify and specify materials of construction compatible to given service considering the operating conditions
- Understanding of equipment types and their application ranges
- Understanding of reliability and maintainability requirements
- Have good awareness of applicable Australian (AS) and International (API, NFPA, ASME, BS) codes and standards relating to pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, process piping, transport pipelines, material handling equipment and rotating machinery (pumps and compressors)
- Experience in developing equipment specifications and mechanical data sheets for procurement
- Awareness of Process Safety requirements, maintenance requirements, ergonomics and constructability to develop and provide guidance on equipment and plant machinery layouts / general arrangement
- Ability to perform basic process plant economics calculations and life cycle cost estimation
- Experience in reviewing vendor drawings and data

As well as experience in a similar Mechanical engineering role.
Specifically:
- Have the required Mechanical Engineering qualifications
- Be working towards RPEQ
- Be a good communicator and team player
- Strong in written communication to articulate technical decisions with due justification
- Report writing skills
