Manufacturing Material Coordinator

Work Location: Gladstone, Queensland 

FFI is transforming regional Australia through green industry manufacturing with a Global Green Energy Manufacturing Centre (GEM) in Gladstone, Queensland.  Stage one of the six-stage project will establish Australia’s first multi-gigawatt-scale electrolyser factory – a world-class facility with an initial capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW) per annum – more than doubling current global production.

Fortescue plans to establish its first Vocational Training and Employment centre (VTEC) in Queensland at GEM, in addition to Trade Up and Leadership and Excellence programs, with a strong focus on giving a hand up to Traditional Custodians.

The Manufacturing Material Coordinator will conduct all activities related to the handling of parts and semi-finished or final products in the warehouse or to/from the production line, as well as maintain inventory record accuracy.

Key accountabilities will include:

Executes the assigned work according to agreed work flows and in accordance with FFI/FMG standard processes and safety guidelines
Responsible for sorting and arranging material for storage as per guidelines
Performs other routine activities according to established procedures
Picking components from stock for dispatch, final packing on pallets, transport of boxes, and various other collection, storage and warehouse activities
Identifying process improvement efficiencies and assist with the implementation of newly agreed processes
Proactive engagement with Expediting and Purchasing teams as required for accurate material tracking.
Proactive daily engagement and attendance to all meetings with key stakeholders.
All related activities are performed in accordance with FFI / Fortescue Metals Group Ltd. policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements

Qualifications and skills required:

Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
Understanding of the entire supply chain process (vendor - site)
Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision-making skills
Experience delivering results in a high-pressure environment
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
