About BMA
BMA is Australia's largest coal producer and supplier of seaborne metallurgical coal. BMA is owned 50:50 by BHP and Mitsubishi Development. BMA operates seven Bowen Basin mines (Goonyella Riverside, Broadmeadow, Daunia, Peak Downs, Saraji, Blackwater and Caval Ridge) and owns and operates the Hay Point Coal Terminal near Mackay.

About the Role
Based in Moranbah, the Manager Maintenance NPI is responsible for the maintenance of BMA houses, villages, and Moranbah Airport.

The role is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of non-mining water infrastructure and BMA treatment plants. The person will be working closely with our NPI Operations team, the Maintenance and Engineering Centre of Excellence (MECoE), water planning team, mine infrastructure maintenance teams on all BMA mines and external stakeholders. The role has accountability for people leadership, operational and commercial performance, across the 2YB period and most importantly, a strong focus on safety.

This role is based in Moranbah, however consideration may be given to commute options within Queensland.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Safety leadership, demonstrating a commitment to all activities that support a zero harm work environment for our people physically and psychologically
Management of Safety Health Management system for multiple legislations
Risk management to ensure safety risks are managed within appetite, and appropriate strategies are developed to contain deviation from this
People leadership and organisational development at an individual and team level, enabling, empowering, and coaching a talented team of dedicated infrastructure maintenance professionals
Operational performance leadership that engenders the pursuit of operating perfection throughout all activities conducted by our team, suppliers, and contractors
Commercial leadership and management, including contract ownership of the maintenance contract
Grow the culture of continuous improvement, delivering everything from micro-improvements at an activity level to supporting the Engineering team in delivering capital projects
Stakeholder engagement and management across a range of internal and external strategic partners that are critical contributors to the business success
About You
You will be someone who has experience in leading teams with safety, maintenance, and operational responsibilities essential to the delivery of business outcomes. You will be energized by problem solving, working with stakeholders across the value chain, and building people and business capability in asset management.

Your key attributes will include:

Excellent verbal and written communicator, skilled in working with a network internal and external to the business
System level thinker, able to problem solve and learn with agility in a dynamic environment
Results driven, curious, with a collaborative working style that is supportive of people
Experience and understanding of working with different legislative requirements and working with government sector stakeholders
Understanding of maintenance processes and management of strategies
Tertiary qualification in engineering, or other related discipline
