We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join the Asset Management team at Boyne Smelters.

This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated individual who has exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. You will play a key role in ensuring all maintenance and operational work is effectively planned and scheduled whilst managing optimal utilisation of field resources & materials.

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Planning and joining a newly formed team of Maintenance Planning experts, you will be:

Providing detailed planning of jobs in SAP, capturing improvement changes, developing estimations of resource requirements and materials
Developing and refining the scheduled outage forecast for designated site working with site and the central teams to optimise and manage business impact;
Prioritising work with the Supervisors, Superintendents and external departments, utilising your considerable stakeholder and relationship building skills;
Working closely with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation to identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure there is effective communication of the plans to ensure appropriate risk management strategies are in place.

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team;
Demonstrated skills in maintenance planning or scheduling
Previous experience utilising a Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP experience will be highly regarded);
Understanding of Work Management

Where you will be working

Opened in 1982, Boyne Smelters Limited is Australia’s second largest aluminium smelter with a 1,000-person strong workforce. Located approximately 20 kilometres south east of Gladstone at Boyne Island on the Central Queensland coast, BSL produces around 500,000 tonnes of aluminium per annum. 

Activities at BSL include manufacturing carbon anodes in the carbon plant, aluminium production (smelting) in reduction lines, and casting of molten material into aluminium products ready to ship. The smelter is connected via a conveyor belt to the Queensland Alumina Limited refinery for the supply of alumina.
