Ergon Energy Network has a permanent opportunity for a Linesperson and/or Live Line Linesperson to be located at Gladstone and are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.
The role:
As a Linesperson and/or Live Line Linesperson, you will:
- Construct, maintain and repair overhead, high and low voltage electrical distribution and sub-transmission systems, street lighting mains and customer service lines.
- Be trade qualified with a Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certificate of Competency as an Electrical Linesperson.
- Perform live line methodology on Energy Queensland (Ergon Energy and Energex) networks.
- Operate within Energy Queensland (Ergon Energy and Energex) requirements for quality, safety and risk assessment compliance.
- Be trade qualified with a Queensland Live Line authorisation, however, if you are a linesperson wanting to undertake further training and skill development to full live line capabilities, we encourage your application.
Critical to your success in the role is your:
- Demonstrated knowledge of an electricity distribution/transmission system, including construction and maintenance of the electrical network.
- Working knowledge of Electricity Act & Regulations, Workplace Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and other relevant statutory acts & regulations.
- Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers. You must have the ability to identify and understand customer needs.
- Available for call out and emergency work.
- Willing to travel to surrounding areas from time to time to undertake work.
- Current ‘C’ class open Drives Licence.
