About the Role
Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, as a Mine Planning Lead you will be engaged in providing design and execution direction for the Peak Downs Operation. There are roles available working on an 8/6 roster and a 4/3 roster, with flexible conditions available to qualifying candidates with regards to paid FIFO/ DIDO/ Residential. There is access to heavily subsidised company housing or Single Person Village Accommodation is provided with this role.
These roles will provide you opportunity to gain experience in many aspects of Mine Planning; while leading a small team of engineers. Use your already solid mine planning skills and experience in this busy and challenging short-term mine planning role to develop effective working relationships with the operational and medium-term planning teams, in order to ensure the efficient execution of your plans and schedules.
This is a great opportunity to hone your mine planning skills as you gain exposure to a variety of equipment and mine geology whilst seeing the results of work as your pit is developed. You will also have access to a supportive, inclusive and results-oriented leadership team.
- Lead a team of engineers:
- Prepare a variety of mine planning designs;
- Communicate the designs and schedules to Operations;
- Develop and follow the Production Planning standards and processes;
- Participate in the investigation of reported events for Production Planning;
- Participate in training for Production Planning;
- Identify and implement Production Planning improvement initiatives;
- Build cross-functional relationship with the Operational sub-functions and interact extensively with the Planning sub-functions.
As the successful candidate, you will have a tertiary education in Engineering and previous experience working at a Coal Mining operation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, allowing you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels. A strong working knowledge of Vulcan/ Deswik/ Spry, Microsoft Office, 3d Dig software packages are essential.
