The philanthropic foundation of one of Australia’s largest social enterprise organisations is seeking a Manager to lead an amazing team and enhance capacity and capability of business communities in regional Australia.  

Who are we? 

The Local Buying Foundations (LBFs) operate in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia and are the philanthropic foundations connected to the Local Buying Program (LBP), administered by C-Res.  C-Res was established in 2012 and delivers the Local Buying Program through a strategic partnership with BHP. 

The Local Buying Foundations are committed to supporting the sustainability of the communities in which we operate, through supporting the capacity and capability-building of small local and indigenous businesses. The Foundations have been operating successfully in Queensland since 2012, in New South Wales since 2017, in Western Australia Pilbara region since 2020, and in South Australia since 2021.

What is the role? 

We are deeply passionate about our commitment to small local and Indigenous businesses in the regions we operate and are seeking an outstanding individual to fill a newly created Local Buying Foundation Manager role.  

The successful applicant will lead the delivery of the Local Buying Foundation strategic plan and activities across our regional footprints while providing strong leadership to a small but dynamic team.  At this same time, connecting with the broader C-Res leadership structure and key stakeholders, will also be critical.

To secure this role you will have:

  • A strategic focus and demonstrated experience in developing and executing plans and initiatives 
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities to lead self and others to deliver high value outcomes 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills including the ability to develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans 
  • Capacity and capability to deliver on your commitments with strong attention paid to the health, safety and wellbeing of those around you 
  • Meticulous attention to governance and due diligence that can be translated across to the governance and compliance required by the Australian Charity and Not for profit Commission (ACNC) 
  • Proven ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a team with a self-starter mindset 
  • Strong reporting and analysis skills 
  • Strong understanding into the rigor, challenge and reward that goes hand in hand with operating in the small business space 
  • Flexibility to travel to regional Australia as required 

You must be prepared to provide reporting and analysis of the Local Buying Foundations against core deliverables and able to deliver important feedback to the C-Res Board (LBF Trustees), C-Res Leadership Team, LBF Advisory Committees (LBFACs), and LBF team.
