Labourer Roads & Drains

Job Description

Mackay Regional Council is seeking a Labourer to join our Civil Operations team, based at the Paget Depot. You will bring your experience in and knowledge of construction and maintenance techniques in road and drainage works. 


You will be required to hold the following qualifications

  • Current QLD General Construction Safety White card
  • Current QLD manual Car ‘C’ class open Driver’s licence
  • Current QLD Medium Rigid Truck ‘MR’ Class Licence or willing to obtain 
  • Current Traffic Controllers Ticket & Traffic Management Implementation 
  • Competent operation of small ride-on equipment and light mechanical plant with relevant certificates of competency for civil construction machinery.
  • Previous experience with maintenance and construction of roads, drainage and other civil infrastructure including earthworks, concrete, pipelaying, bitumen and vegetation work and hands on labouring tasks.


Salary & Benefits Package:  

  • Base salary from $53,783 + allowances as applicable 
  • Up to 18% weekly superannuation contribution (conditions apply)
  • Choice of 4 or 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading 
  • 9 day fortnight roster
