About the Crinum Mine Operation:

As Mine Operator, Mastermyne is ramping up our operation at Crinum Underground Mine in preparation for first production in August 2022. Our early works team are playing an important role in establishing the mine operating systems and building a team with a unique and positive safety culture that resonates The Mastermyne Way

About the Opportunity:

Reporting to the Health, Safety, Environment, Community and Training Manager (HSECT) – the primary purpose of this role is to provide strategic advice and support on the Safety Health Management System application across all departments. 

You will be responsible primarily, for assisting in developing, implementing and monitoring Health, Hygiene and Safety Systems and initiatives to ensure the delivery of Legislated and business objectives.

In this role you will show exceptional leadership capability, relationship building skills and commercial astuteness will be complemented by well-developed communication, interpersonal and influencing abilities.

Minimum skills and attributes we seek for a HSEC Coordinator:

  • Providing HSEC advice and practices to site departments, contributing to the attainment of the HSEQ objectives of the Mastermyne Crinum Business Plan;
  • Working in a consultative manner and participating in the development of HSEC projects and plans;
  • Implementing and administrating HSEC processes and systems to meet legislative, SHMS requirements;
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Trainer and Assessor skill set; (Desirable)
  • The ability to utilise investigative (ICAM Lead) and audit tools and processes;
  • Proven experience in a HSEC Coordinator Role;
  • Underground Coal Mining Industry experience is preferred;
  • An in-depth understanding of applicable legislation and standards;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Whilst a tertiary qualification in OH&S is desirable, experience in risk management and return to work coordination are essential to the role. You will also have a proven track record in demonstrating a strong systems focus and strategic approach to creating and maintaining a safe workplace.
