Hospitality & Tourism Trainee - 12-18 month program

Southern Cross Motel Group are an Australian owned and operated Motel Group located throughout regional Queensland and New South Wales stretching from the Reef & Northern Rain Forests to the Riverina in New South Wales. We offer ‘Country Hospitality’ and a welcoming smile to all guests and we are investing in a growing network of Four Star Regional Motels equally suited to Corporate and Leisure Travelers.  

We are seeking candidates who are willing to learn the business from the ground up with a 12-18 month commitment required which will include the completion of Certificate III in Tourism & Hospitality as part of the qualification.

The successful applicants will undertake a structured 12-18 month program experiencing being hands on in our properties working in all aspects of the operation.

The role will include full training in the following areas: 

Customer Service
Reservations/Reservation Systems
Yield Management 
Marketing including Brand & on-line management (Social Media)
Sales & Business Development 
Guest Services
Front Office and Reception
End of Day & Week Administration Procedures 
Food & Beverage Attendant including Responsible Service of Alcohol and Barista 
Stock Control
Food Preparation
Housekeeping & Quality Control 
Grounds & Maintenance
