Established in 1985, we manufacture and market high powered bulk materials handling conveyor systems and components as well as provide on-site installation, maintenance, and relocation of conveyor installations.

Our Opportunity 

Due to ongoing growth NEPEAN Conveyors is currently seeking a Graduate Pulley Engineer. This will be a Hybrid role servicing our customers on site through the Bowen Basin and then also working from our Mackay office. This multi-faceted role will require the Graduate Mechanical Engineering Degree qualified Employee to engage with our customers as front-line contact for Pulley Engineering, Auditing and Sales related support, particularly focused on increasing NEPEAN's customer engagement. A vehicle will be provided for all site travel.

Your daily duties will include but are not limited to. 

  • Applying sound Mechanical Engineering practices to the safe design of Underground Conveyor Equipment
  • Entering Inputs and analyzing Outputs from many in-house Design Calculators and Spreadsheets, written to ensure output is conforming to relevant Australian Standards
  • Finite Element Analysis using Inventor and ANSYS (optional)
  • Power and Tension calculations and reports for CHPP and underground conveyor systems
  • Understanding the installation, operation and maintenance of industrial equipment, especially Conveyor System Pulleys
  • Pulley Design
  • Pulley Audits to power and tension demands
  • Pulley rationalization to reduce site inventory.

The Right Person

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or seeking graduate placement.
  • Prior experience in a customer service role
  • Having experience in AutoCAD and Inventor is beneficial, as the employee will be responsible for the design and 3D modelling of conveyor equipment, as well as the production of conveyor layouts and other CAD-related.
  • Experience in the mining fields is preferred but not essential.
  • Highly organised, extremely personable, and reliable 
  • Rights to work in Australia. 
  • Australian Driver's License
