A Herron Todd White business which has 65 staff in 9 offices and has responsibility for operations in regional Queensland is currently seeking an experienced Finance and Business Manager to join their team in a permanent capacity. The primary responsibility of the Finance & Business Manager is to ensure organisational effectiveness by providing leadership to the finance and business functions of the company. Flexible working arrangements and part time hours will be considered for the right applicant.

Responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist the Directors with preparation and implementation of plans, policies, strategies and budgets for the growth and profitable operation of the company. 
  • Lead the finance function including management of debtors, creditors, fixed assets register, bank and credit card reconciliations, balance sheet, P&L (inc. salaries} and suspense account reconciliation, general journals, and cash flow management. 
  • Prepare and submit BAS, IAS, SGC, Work Cover, PAYG and Payroll Tax and ensure legislative compliance
  • Manage the payroll functions
  • Provide advice to Directors and Staff on all aspects of human resource management
  • Oversee the HR operational function to ensure the effective delivery of onboarding and induction programs
  • Provide Support to the Management Team with general business management responsibilities including the coordination of WHS compliance and helping lead IT changes
  • Manage and oversee property (office) leases and assist with business insurance renewals.
  • Oversee the Operations division and assist the Team Leader, Operations in the management of performance.

In this role, you will stand out with your ability to relate to a diverse group of people and lead by example in the management of your team. The successful candidate will join the regional Queensland management team which is well supported by the national executive. 

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • Relevant Accounting Degree with CA/CPA Certification or intention to commence study towards certification.
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience in accounting, experience in the property or service industry will be an added advantage. 
  • Previous HR management and/or operational experience is highly desirable. 
  • Experience performing month end close and sound knowledge of accounting standards.
  • Mid-size ERP experience essential (NetSuite preferred). 
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite
  • Intermediate to advanced excel/google sheets skills 
  • Demonstrated experience building effective relationships with a range of external and internal stakeholders.
