Executive Officer, Office for Rural & Regional Queensland

Job Description


As the Executive Officer, Office for Rural & Regional Queensland you will use your exceptional organisational skills, strong communication, attention to detail and professional work ethic to provide confidential and attentive support to the Director, Statewide Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement team.

You will pride yourself on your ability to build and maintain effective work relationships with a wide range of clients and stakeholders across the department, and sector.

Your key responsibilities will include:


- Deliver high quality and confidential administrative and executive support to the Director and to other regionally based staff, including organising stakeholder meetings, travel and teleconference bookings, seminar attendances and office hospitality

- Manage an electronic diary of meetings and appointments for the Director, prioritising activities and ensuring optimal time management through effective correspondence, visitor and telephone management

- Build and maintain effective working relationships with other government bodies, private organisations and with members of the public

- Deliver efficient secretariat and logistical support to the unit and to regional stakeholder meetings and undertake follow up activities on behalf of the Director

- Prepare draft correspondence including letters, briefing notes, business cases, and stakeholder presentations within required time frames and in accordance with departmental guidelines

- Undertake short term research tasks, projects and assignments to support regional stakeholder engagement and the delivery of the government's regional strategy

- Review and evaluate administrative and reporting systems and recommend improvements to increase their efficiency and effectiveness

- Coordinate human resource and information services support functions within and across regional offices

- Monitor the unit's budget expenses, reconcile office expenditure and collate data for financial and other business reporting
