About the Role

Gladstone Ports Corporation is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the role of Environment Monitoring Specialist.

Reporting to the Environment Superintendent you will coordinate the development, maintenance and implementation of Gladstone Ports Corporation’s (GPC) environmental monitoring and measurement obligations using expertise to ensure the programs are fit for purpose and achieves compliance.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Administer the monitoring and sampling schedules and registers to ensure all GPC’s monitoring obligations are met and aligned with GPC’s ISO14001 certification;
Ensure GPC’s compliance monitoring obligations from environmental approvals and management plans are captured in the monitoring and sampling procedures, registers/ schedules and implemented accordingly;
Manage GPC’s telemetered network of real time monitoring equipment and associated systems which measure air quality, water quality (marine), and weather;
Develop technical scopes of work for monitoring works;
Ensure that monitoring is undertaken in accordance with any required standards or guidelines;

Formal Qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Environmental Engineering or Natural Resources are desirable.
