About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Scheduling, as the Specialist Mine Scheduling you will be engaged in providing clear direction to the execution teams through mine designs and schedules for the 0 to 12 week time frame for the truck & shovel fleets. Using your already solid mine planning skills and experience in this exciting and challenging short-term mine planning role to develop effective working relationships with the operational teams in order to ensure the efficient execution of your plans and schedules.

You will also have access to a supportive, inclusive and results-oriented leadership team. The role is offered on an 8/6 roster with FIFO entitlements.
In this role you will:
- Prepare Truck & Shovel designs;
- Communicate the designs to Production Coordinators and Operations;
- Participate in the investigation of reported events for Production Planning;
- Identify and implement Production Planning improvement initiatives;
- Build cross-functional relationship with the Operational sub-functions and interact extensively with the Planning sub-functions.
Goonyella Riverside is a large open cut [link removed] coking [link removed] coal mine [link removed] in the Bowen Basin [link removed] located 30km north of Moranbah [link removed]. Goonyella Riverside Mine utilises both Dragline and Truck & Shovel stripping methods to uncover 3 seams of coal and is processed through 2 prep plants. This is an exciting time at Goonyella Riverside with the Autonomous Haulage project entering execution phase and will deliver a step change in both safety and productivity for the largest stripping operation within the BMA portfolio.
As the successful candidate, you will have a tertiary education background in Engineering. Your demonstrated experience working in mine planning or other engineering teams particularly planning and scheduling for large equipment will be well regarded.
As well as your strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will have demonstrated ability to build relationships across departments and able to communicate at all levels. A strong working knowledge of CAD design tools such as but not limited to Deswik/Vulcan, Microsoft Office, Xact software packages are desirable. You will also be a performance and achievement oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and providing excellent results.
