Everyone plays an important part in our success, regardless of the role.  As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible and accountable for managing the activities of the shift in terms of compliance to all legislative, safety, health and environmental requirements, as well as working to achieve daily production targets. You will provide direction and leadership to the tradespersons on your shift.  

Who are you?

 

We are looking for our future leaders, people who lead from the front, are forward thinkers and enjoy variety in their working week as they juggle the multiple priorities and expectations that come with working on a busy, productive mine site.

  • Tertiary qualifications in a Mechanical or Electrical Trade
  • 5 years’ experience in underground coal mining
  • Experience in the use of Maintenance Management Systems (Pulse)
  • Advanced Diploma in Engineering or in the process of obtaining (desired)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (desired)
  • S1, S2, S3, Site safety supervisor’s course or equivalent
  • Regularly inspecting workplace for safe and healthy work practices and environment
  • Actively promote and participate in mine safety among the workforce
  • Allocating, monitoring and controlling the daily underground activities
  • Supervision of mine production activities
  • Provide leadership to crew members, contractors and OEM’s, setting positive examples and assisting in team development
  • Achieve shift production and safety targets
