The Role
We are looking for an experienced trade Diesel Fitter to join the Maintenance department. Reporting to the Crew Supervisors, you will have the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently. You will work in a dynamic and challenging environment with a high focus on planned maintenance. The successful candidates will be required to participate in all aspects of maintenance including routine maintenance, repairs and servicing.

This position is residential in Mount Isa and will require you to work a 7 on / 7 off, day and night shift roster, providing grounds for an excellent work-life balance.



The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Completion of assigned tasks to deliver continuous and safety improvements for the maintenance team
  • Undertaking planned maintenance tasks as instructed
  • Project work as required
  • Working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary trade team
  • Demonstrating a high standard of professional workmanship
  • Performing heavy fleet maintenance work, as well as breakdown repairs
  • Planned maintenance activities on assets such as Sandvik, Caterpillar, Volvo and Normet
  • Contributing to continuous improvement opportunities
  • Maintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplace
  • Mentoring apprentices

 

The successful candidates will be and have the ability to obtain:

  • Trade qualification
  • High risk work licence and Working at Heights
  • Mining experience preferred but not essential
  • Excellent troubleshooting & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
  • Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to learn new processes
  • Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence
  • Experience in SAP would be an advantage or similar system
  • Experience in Excel would be an advantage
