Our Engineering Division has a permanent opportunity for a Demand Management Engineer to be located at any major EQL location, and are inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.

These locations include Brisbane (Newstead), Cairns, Mackay, Rockhampton, Toowoomba and Townsville.

The role


The Demand Management Engineer is responsible for providing professional engineering assistance to Energy Queensland through the application of well developed engineering capability. Technical implementation of leading edge technologies and the application in existing and future products and services will be coupled with economic, financial and business model development to strategically position Energy Queensland as customer driven leaders in Demand Management (DM).

The candidate

Critical to your success in the role is your:-

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering acceptable for membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category, and achievement of, or working towards attaining Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ).
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Queensland is desirable.
  • Post-Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering is desirable.
  • Business Management and/or Project Management Studies is desirable.
  • Highly developed facilitation, interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills including the ability to think on your feet and effectively influence when engaging with customer advocates and stakeholders.
  • High level of verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate a positive outcome.

 

The position has been evaluated as Professional and Managerial Grade Two (PM2). Annual remuneration ranging between $125K - $160K. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2020.
