About the role

We are seeking an experienced Crew Trainer to work collaboratively with your crew and the wider site team towards delivering safe, high-quality results at our new project in the Bowen Basin - the Olive Downs Complex.

Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres South-west of Moranbah and is due to commence mining operations in early 2023. Thiess has recently been awarded a five year contract to deliver full service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul, water management and rehabilitation as well as construction of the mine infrastructure.

About you

As the successful applicant, you’ll be a high achieving team-focused individual who is enjoys delivering results in a dynamic environment. Your exceptional relationship building skills coupled with your ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders will also ensure your success in this role.

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Experience as a Trainer Assessor in a mining or other heavy industry environment with operational experience with the Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package
  • Knowledge of the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 (Qld) including all relevant regulations, guidelines and Australian standards
  • Knowledge of Nationally Recognised Core Competency packages
  • High commitment to your personal safety and for others
