About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and a strong performing Crane Operator who will play an integral role within the Maintenance Services team, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and to the highest standard in line with company policies and procedures. Working the 9-day fortnight roster (in accordance with current QAL practices). Reporting directly to the Supervisor – Crane Base, you will contribute to our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operation of non-slewing and a variety of slewing cranes up to 220t capacity in a safe manner
  • Compliance with rigging procedures and slinging techniques
  • Crane set-up, rigging and assembly
  • Developing and completing lift plans as required
  • Ensuring cranes are inspected and operated in a safe manner 
  • Maintain cranes in a safe, clean and tidy condition
  • Work with the team and communicate with internal customers as required

 

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you should have: 

  • A strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement and teamwork
  • C0 Crane Ticket is preferred
  • Doggers and HR licence would be highly regarded
  • Intermediate Riggers ticket preferred but not essential
  • Attention to detail and good time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to self-manage 
  • Basic computer skills would be highly regarded
