Job Description

TEMPORARY - up to 12 months fixed term.

About the Role

The Corporate Affairs Advisor is responsible for assisting in the optimisation of the corporate affairs function and relationships across all stakeholder groups including shareholding ministers, government, Board, staff, industry, media, customers, community and Non-Government Organisations (NGOs). Assisting with the delivery of strategies that engage, inform and contribute to the overall reputation of Gladstone Ports Corporation while using agile and critical thinking to deliver on successful relationships and stakeholder management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in all corporate affairs activities including communication, media relations, government relations and liaison with Shareholding Ministers, customers, community and industry groups to maintain and enhance Gladstone Ports Corporation’s (GPC) reputation and social license to operate.
  • Research and draft media releases, media responses, key messages, holding statements, Q&As, briefing notes and other materials to contribute to accurate and timely advice to media outlets, Shareholding Ministers, government and GPC’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Contribute to the creation of digital content, including producing high quality video, audio and written content for the organisations website and social media channels.
  • Support the Corporate Affairs Specialist to monitor dynamic issues impacting the organisation, and identify opportunities and emerging issues of consequence.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will have advanced level written and verbal communication skills and high-level PC skills with expertise in MS Office suite and Adobe Creative suite

You will have strong communication skills and adept at building relationships with internal & external stakeholders. It is desirable that you hold a tertiary qualification in communications, public relations or journalism or proven experience in a relevant field.
