Your New Team

 

Is the Backbone Team supporting Gladstone Region engaging in action Together (GRT). The team leads a collective impact project under the Stronger Places, Stronger People initiative of the Australian Government in partnership with Queensland Government. You will be joining a new team, working alongside community in a place-based, community-led journey to improved community wellbeing.

Your New Role

 

In this role, your dynamic and collaborative approach will drive GRT’s community engagement ensuring that community voice is heard and lived experience informs the work.

You will provide day-to-day facilitation of GRT’s community engagement including responsibility for the community engagement plan, stakeholder register and issues register. You will ensure actions are recorded and responded to and monitor and evaluate qualitative data including stakeholder feedback and community perceptions to further shape the community engagement strategy and communications.

The role has accountabilities in support of sector partnership and research activities as directed by the Projects and Partnerships Lead, supports communications and message development and reports to the GRT Executive Director.

  • 3-5 years work experience including proven community engagement and coordination experience
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with community stakeholders
  • Strong community engagement skills
  • Strong facilitation skills and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Creativity, courage and innovation to think outside the box
  • Event management skills and experience
  • The presence to inspire confidence in external audiences and to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • High emotional intelligence and professionalism and ability to adapt communications to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fluid, unstructured, entrepreneurial environment
  • Flexibility and the ability to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed
  • Commitment to collective impact concepts
  • Existing relationships with, or ability to build relationships with, diverse stakeholders
