Communications Technician / Dual Trade Electrician - Optional

Salary 100 - 140K (plus super)
Full-time (12 months work out of Rockhampton Area with potential future work out of one of our Townsville, Brisbane, Gladstone offices, if available)

Remote Locations – DIDO Weekly (Camp) or optional DIDO Daily upon negotiation.

The Role

The Communications Technician (or Dual Trader) to assist in the installation of project communications system for a high profile defence project, ensuring quality of workmanship.

As a key member of the Project team, the incumbent will assist with the day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Installation of individual project
Maintain plant and machinery when in use or care.
Installation of cabling.
Installation of accessories / fixtures.
Installation / connection of equipment
Liaise with other trades

Quality Assurance Activities
Adhere to division quality assurance system in project.
Remedy and prevention of non-conformances on project.
Inspection and testing.
Document control.
Ensure compliance to the relevant standards including AS3000, AS\NZS 009, 3080, 3084, 3085 & 3087.

OHS & Environmental Activities
Adhere to company and Project OHS systems and requirements.
Conduct risk assessments and review SWMS.
Regularly inspect your work area for potential health and safety hazards.
Observe legal & technical compliance and obligations in relation to the position and the workplace.

Good verbal, written and communications skills;
Knowledge of OHS requirements and compliance

Proactive and positive attitude.


ACMA Communications Cablers License with Optic Fibre & Cat 6 endorsements.
Membership with a registered Cable Registry Service.
General Construction Induction Card  – white card (previously blue card).
Current drivers licence.
