Macs Engineering and Opposite Lock is a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of medium truck bodies, light vehicle tray bodies, roll over protection systems (ROPS), laser cutting operations and other specialist vehicle componentry in Mackay.
Macs Engineering’s laser cutting operations is currently seeking a CNC Laser and Press Operator to join our small team. This role will provide training and growth for the right applicant but experience in CNC laser operation is essential.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Efficient running of Fiber lasers at optimum efficiency;
- Ensure production schedule is followed through as allocated;
- Uploading and editing where necessary the files provided by programming;
- Check quality of parts, ticking off orders;
- Making sure all parts are cut, stacked and packed and counts are right;
- Ensuring all necessary paperwork and record keeping is done neatly, legibly and in a timely manner;
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, including machine maintenance and material stock.
- Other duties and responsibilities as directed from time to time.
About You
The successful candidate will possess the following experience and skills:
- Previous experience with fiber lasers;
- Current High Risk Work Licence - Forklift;
- Be safety and quality oriented with the ability to adhere to policies, standards and business rules;
- Have an excellent work ethic, being punctual and hard working with a good attendance record;
- Problem solving mindset;
- Show attention to detail in the work performed;
- Willing to work respectfully in a team environment (including in other areas within a fabrication environment and on other machines as required).
