CORONADO GLOBAL RESOURCES is one of the world's biggest producers of high-quality metallurgical coal. Our global operations are located in two of the largest and most productive metallurgical coal basins in the world, the Bowen Basin in Queensland, Australia and the Central Appalachian region of the US, servicing customers throughout the Asia-Pacific, Americas and European regions.

Curragh Mine, near Blackwater, is one of the largest open-cut coal mines in the Queensland Bowen Basin and is unique in that it has two Coal Handling Preparation Plants.

What You'll Do

This key role will see you accountable for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of short-term coal flow, monitoring compliance to mine plan, identifying critical paths/interactions and escalating any deviations to the relevant stakeholders.

Your role will be interesting and varied and will include:

  • Maintaining an accurate representation of the CoalFlow plan by reconciling actual mining to the plan at completion of relevant periods
  • Reviewing compliance to mining plan daily through in pit inspections
  • Identifying business critical risks and opportunities and communicate to relevant stakeholders
  • Providing regular feedback to the CHPP coal scheduling team on coal delivery timing and variance to plan
  • Leading and executing Mining or Processing projects as required
  • Supporting and collaborating with other departments where required to ensure the Company's overall objectives are achieved
  • Attending mine planning meetings and provide feedback as part of the mine planning process
  • Proactively building and maintaining positive working relationships through teamwork and mutual respect
  • Strive for continuous improvement in work practices and foster a climate of positive change.
  • Carry out all work safely and in accordance with correct operating procedures

What You'll Bring

Key to your success will be your:

  • Solid experience in the coal mining with a focus on short term coal flow monitoring.
  • Previous proven supervisory experience.
  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering/Geology/Geotechnical ideal but not essential
